What's Art?

Art to me is something a person spends quality time, effort and thought creating. It reveals the artists truth. Or, how they may feel and think at that certain time with that certain subject. There are no right or wrong ways to create art, because art varies person to person. That, to me, is art.

My favorite photograph is the complementary colors image. It's a photograph of leafs on a branch with a blue sky back round. I chose the leafs as my subject because they were red and the sky, being blue, made the leafs stand out more and follow the assignment, complementary colors. I took this picture on the tree in the school parking lot on Thursday, October 4th. On this image, the compositional technique I used was complementary colors.

My favorite abstract photo is definitely abstract 1. It's a Photograph of a plastic, rainbow spin wheel, spinning in the wind. I chose the spin wheel because I liked all the bright colors against the dull background, it really made the pigment pop. I took this picture on October 9th, 2018 at 9:18 AM in the garden area at Peninsula High School. For this picture I used abstract. As you can see, only the top of the spinning wheel is showing, therefor, you can't tell what the pictures subject is.

It was hard to chose my favorite photo for this assignment because I really liked them all, but since I have to chose one it would probably be the hard backlight leaf. I chose that particular leaf as my subject because I saw that it had a hole in it. Since using light in different ways was apart of this project, I thought it would be interesting to put the hole in front of the sun. I took this photo at Peninsula on October 16th. For this picture really the only technique I used was lighting.
